One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Over the last decade I have been there about 15 times. Mostly in the Highlands, but have been to the south as well. Edinburgh and Glasgow are cities which couldn't be more different from each other. Edinburgh, the "Athens of the North" with its many Greek-style buildings, has more of an ancient touch. Glasgow on the other hand looks far more modern in comparison. Since 1999 it has been undergoing major renovations from the harbour to the inner city. If you ever have the chance to go to Scotland make sure to have enough time to visit both of them. So get yourself a copy of Seneca's "best of" (not Cicero, since he was just a politician and you can guess how exciting his texts are....) and make a stop at Ardvreck Castle.
